The nylon materials are coated with different substances, such as polyurethane and silicon. The nylon tents are quite good to use in the moist ambience, but in the dry conditions, the UV radiations, such as sunlight can break down the nylon. Seasonally inhabited tents may have a better life because these can resist against sunlight for a few more seasons. A permanent nylon tent may not survive for more than a year in the sunlight.
